A writ petition was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking a judicial inquiry into a fire incident at the Services Hospital Lahore claiming lives of nine infants.Advocate Noshab A. Khan – the petitioner - stated that it was the third major fire incident at the Services Hospital in two years but no action was taken by the Punjab government.In the recent incident fire broke out in nursery section of the hospital which caused death of nine infants while several others were seriously injured.Counsel for the Punjab government prayed that an inquiry committee has been formed to probe the incident.The court directed the committee to submit its report within two weeks and ordered Punjab government to submit a written reply.
