Summary Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Saturday has rejected new taxes on CNG.
Addressing a press conference here Saturday, MQM Deputy parliamentary leader Haider Abbas Rizvi said his party has rejected all new taxes on CNG.He advised the government that discretionary funds of the prime minister should be reduced in order to decrease circular debt.Rizvi suggested that the government should improve direct and indirect tax collection, adding direct tax should be 70 pc and that of indirect to 30 pc.He said that inflation would increase with imposition of new taxes on CNG. He said that there is no justification for allocation of tremendously heavy amount for a single person.He said that there is cut in the government and Army budget by Rs 25-25 billion. This amount may be used for progress and prosperity of the country. He said that having an alliance with the government doesn’t mean that the MQM has been amalgamated with the PPP.Withering economic situation is the most crucial issue in the country and it may be resolved with revolutionary system of taxes, he concluded.
