Summary SC orders to produce girls in court on Wednesday if they are still alive as stated by officials.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the suo moto case pertaining to the death decree in Kohistan.Two of the men who danced with the girls in a wedding were presented before the bench.The men told that five girls were sentenced to death.PMs adviser on interior, Rehman Malik, said that no such incident happened in Kohistan according to the reports.He said the members of assembly were contacted and no one confirmed the incident. Malik said the cleric (mufti) who allegedly announced the death decree also denied all such reports.Rehman Malik told the bench that he has directed his staff to reach affected women by helicopters.Meanwhile, DIG hazara said that tribal women can only understand Kohistani language due to which they were facing problems in collecting the facts. He said only one person has so far lent his services in this regard.During the hearing, Commissioner Hazara said that the incident took place where mobile phones and television don’t work.Attorney general also maintained that the incident was not confirmed even when a team was sent to investige the matter.The attorney general said that the boy who broke the news doesn’t have a good repute in the area.The bench said that the courtroom will be vacated keeping in view the tribal traditions if the women appeared before the court. It further ordered to produce the girls today if no such incident happened.The court took suo motu notice on the issue on Monday after reports came up that clerics had allegedly issued orders for the killing of five women and two men after a mobile phone video emerged of the seven singing and dancing at a wedding in a remote village in Kohistan.
