Summary The teachers continue their hunger strike for 27th consecutive day on Tuesday.
The All Government Teachers Association (AGTA) launched the hunger strike more than 3 week ago for the fulfillement of their 26 demands including restructuring of teachers’ time scale, increment in conveyance allowance and replacement of junior teachers from grades 18 and 19.The teaches announced to close government and private schools in protest from Wednesday.On Monday, several teachers were shifted to hospital due to poor health condition.The teachers vowed that they will not end their strike until a notification accepting their demands was issued by the government.
