Summary MQM leaders presented a shadow budget of Rs 494 billion in Karachi.
While addressing press conference in Karachi, Dr Sardar Ahmad, Sabzwari and other leaders said that special arrangements should be made in order to make Pakistan a virtual welfare state. They said that their party has suggested some points to make the Sindh budget affective. They said that provision of daily-used items should be made sure, adding that such items should be available on utility stores on low price. They demanded that farmers should be given subsidy with the emphasis that special subsidy should be given to the people who are living in district headquarters. It was also suggested that monitoring system should be introduced in order to have a check on price of things after three months each. They also demanded issuance of ration cards from utility stores.
