Summary Citizens launched violent protests against hours long power outages in the country.
The severe energy crisis in the country has raised public rage and compelled them turn to the streets.On Monday, citizens protested in different cities including Lahore and Faisalabad.The citizens launched protest against the power outages in Shahdara area of Lahore and blocked main GT road. The young boys with batons attacked Ravi Toll plaza and vandalised other installations.The protesters started gathering near Nar Chowk from different localities of Faisalabad. They stormed a cloth market near Nar Chowk and looted the markets.On the other hand, police failed to bring situation under control , however, banks and petrol pumps were closed and announcements were made in the mosques to avoid further damages.The enraged protesters again gathered at one point and started marching towards the FESCO office situated at Canal Road.
