Summary Rain is expected in some areas of upper Punjab upper Khyber during next 24 hours.

Extremely hot weather grips most plane areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa‚ upper Sindh and southeastern parts of Balochistan.According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), intensity of heat will continue to prevail in most parts during next two to three days.The highest temperature of forty-nine degrees centigrade was recorded in Dadu‚ Bhakkar and Nurpur Thal. In Balochist, temperature jumped to 48 degrees centigrade in Turbat.Other places where the temperature exceeded forty-five degrees centigrade are: Multan‚ Dera Ghazi Khan‚ Sargodha forty-eight degrees centigrade; Faisalabad‚ Jhelum‚ Mandi Bahauddin‚ Okara‚ Bahawalnagar‚ Larkana and Sukkur forty-six; and Lahore‚ Toba Tek Singh‚ Rohri and Moenjodaro forty-six degrees centigrade.The maximum temperature of some major cities: Islamabad, forty-three degrees centigrade; Karachi thirty-five‚ Lahore forty-six; Peshawar and Muzaffarabad forty-two; Quetta thirty-six; and Gilgit twenty-seven degrees centigrade.
