Hajj case: Court indicts Hamid Kazmi, 2 others

Summary Rawalpindi court has indicted three accused including ex-religious minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi.

Denying all allegations, all the accused former director general (Hajj) Rao Shakeel, former joint secretary (Hajj) Aftab-ul-Islam along with former minister for religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi announced to defend themselves in the case.The indictment stated that a commission of 17.5 million rupees was taken on the renting of buildings in Makkah.Arrest warrant for Hamid Saeed Kazmi’s alleged front man Ahmed Faiz has also been issued. The court also summoned the frst ten witnesses on prosecutors list and adjourned the hearing till June 5.Addressing the media after hearing, Hamid Saeed Kazmi said that those who leveled allegations against him were not included as witnesses.Earlier, Hamid Saeed Kazmis acquittal plea was rejected by the Rawalpindi court.
