Summary Pentagon has stated that Dr Shakil Afridi has done nothing wrong against Pakistan.
Briefing the media in Washington, Pentagon Spokesperson George Little said Dr Shakil only helped Washington in operation against Osama bin Laden.He said that Al Qaeda was still a big threat and US will continue efforts to curb it.He said US was concerned over Shakil Afridi’s condition in Pakistan.George Little said that Dr Shakil did not steal any secret document but only helped US to get the most wanted terrorist.The Pentagon spokesman refrained from commenting over the issue of reduction of US aid to Pakistan.He said that NATO supply route through Pakistn was important for the US and talks are underway with Islamabad while US is hopeful of progress in this regard.Responding to a question, George Little said, more efficient efforts were needed for the normalization of relations between the two countries.The Pentagon spokesman said he was unaware whether Haqanni network was being included to terrorists list or not.
