Summary Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi will pay a two-day official visit to Islamabad.
Well-placed sources told Online that the Chinese Foreign Minister is on his unscheduled visit to Pakistan, after escalating tension between Pakistan and the United States’ relations, and the conviction of Dr. Shakil Afridi.Yang Jiechi would be in Islamabad with an important message from his leadership. He would meet with civil and military leadership of the country including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.Sources further said that during his stay in Islamabad, the Chinese Foreign Minister would discuss bilateral ties, regional peace, energy crises in Pakistan and security situation while it is expected that the Chinese FM would also discuss about NATO supply line issue.When Online contacted Foreign Office spokesman Moazam Ali Khan regarding NATO supply issue, however, he neither rejected nor verified the expected talks on NATO supply with Chinese Foreign Minister.
