Summary Transfer of prisoners from Punjab to KPK jails has been stopped over request of KPK govt.
This has been done in view of lack of capacity of KPK jails to hold prisoners above capacity, as despite suspension of the process, prisoners were still being transferred to KP jails.The KPK government taking strict notice of the practice had formed a committee comprising of special secretary, home ministry and deputy secretary admin who had forwarded their recommendations to Punjab home department.The interior ministry had informed the Punjab government, who had stopped further relocation of prisoners to KPK jails.
