Summary CJP Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry lamented the action against Lal Masjid.
Three-member bench headed by the CJP began hearing of the Lal Masjid case. AIG Islamabad Police Tahir Alam informed the court that an FIR has been registered against those who launched the operation.The CJP said it was regrettable that the operation was launched against the mosque in Pakistan.The court also asked that what was Wafaqul Madaras’ point of view of on the issue. The attorney for Wafaqul Madaras Iftikhar Gilani said compensation money should be paid to the relatives of the victims.The decision to pay the compensation was made in 2007 but the money has not been paid to all of the victims’ relatives, he added.The attorney for Jamia Hafsa Tariq Assad informed the court the decision to rebuilt the facility has not been implemented so far, which amounts to contempt of the court.The court ordered the police to present the complete record of the operation .
