Summary Hearing into the Balochistan case is underway at Supreme Courts Quetta registry.

A three member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing Wednesday into the case pertaining to the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan.Defense secretary and PM’s principal secretary also appeared before the bench.During the hearing PM’s principal secretary Khushnood Lashari said that PM Gilani introduced Balochistan package to end sense of deprivation. On this, CJP remarked that development in the province is nil.CJP lamented that locals are accusing law enforcement agencies for killings in the province. Not even the ullema are safe but the government is still not taking any interest in the issue.He said the provincial minister accused other ministers for the deteriorating law and order situation.Expressing displeasure over the attitude of concerned authorities, CJ said that several areas of the province have been changed into no-go areas due to the failed policies of the police. He said deputy attorney general is still not ready to write a single line to government despite the alarming situation. Eight hundred FC personnel and over hundered locals have been killed in the province, he further added.CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that the government is not complying with article 148 of the constitution despite being summoned for repeated times.Referring to PM’s status, he said Gilani should meet people’s expectations. He further hinted at other options if PM Gilani doesn’t carry out his duties effectively and fail to implement court orders.The bench ordered to arrest home secretary after filing case against him and present him on Friday before the court.
