Summary The SHC on Friday ordered the Sindh government to hold Local Bodies elections within 90 days.

Two-member bench of the Sindh High Court comprising Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Nadeem Akhtar announced the decision of a writ petition regarding Local Bodies election filed by former Sukkur Nazim Nasir Hussain Shah.The bench maintained in its ruling that holding of the local bodies elections within three months was a constitutional necessity in the light of the Supreme Court ruling.The Sindh government and the election commission took the stance that most parts of the Sindh province were affected by floods due to which Local Bodies elections were being delayed.The counsel of the petitioner took the stance before the court that the Sindh government held by-elections but it was delaying the local government elections.Announcing the verdict of the case, the Sindh High Court ordered the Sindh government to hold Local Bodies elections within three months.
