Summary Nab on Monday resumed homework on money laundering case worth $ 32 against Sharif Brothers.

The NAB spokesman said the details of the reference sent by Interior Minister Rehman Malik could not be shared with the media.Briefing the media NAB spokesman Zafer Iqbal said that money laundering reference against Sharif Brothers had been issued by the Ministry for the Interior. Preliminary investigation in this regard is underway, he said.Zafar Iqbal said that President Asif Zardari had not forbidden NAB chairman to work on cases against Nawaz Sharif but had given the directions that Sharif Brothers should not be targeted without any proof.He also said that Sharif Brothers could not be put on trial in old cases due to orders issued by the Lahore High Court.NAB spokesman said that following the Supreme Court orders, statements of three federal ministers Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Liqat Jatoi and Shaukar Tarin have been recorded; however, no amount could be recovered from the accused up till now.He said that about Rs 2 billion had been recovered from different accused, including Walters International and other stakeholders.He made it clear that the NAB was not being pressurized in any sense regarding implementation on Rental Power Case.
