National Assembly today passed a resolution to create South Punjab province.

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani also congratulated the National Assembly and political leadership for adopting a resolution to create province of South Punjab.In a statement‚ he said creation of South Punjab Province is longstanding demand of the people of the area which will help remove their deprivation.The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude to the House for reposing confidence in him and assured that he will continue efforts for strengthening democracy and the institutions.
