ANF names Musa Gilani accused in prohibited drug case

Summary ANF on Thursday named Ali Musa Gilani, son of PM Gilani, as an accused in ephedrine case.

According to the Anti Narcotic Force (ANF) sources, a miscellaneous application has been moved in the Supreme Court of Pakistan by BrigadierFahim Khan, regional director of the ANF, naming eight other accused, including Ali Musa Gilani, in ephedrine import scam.Khushund Lashari, Principal Secretary to the prime minister and Zafar Abbas Lak, a federal secretary was also named as accused.The ANF said that PM house used influence in the allotment of ephedrine quota that was in violation of laws of United Nations.ANF alleged that Lak was trying to sabotage the inquiry process, and added that the ministry of narcotics has been asking ANF to stop its inquiry and also stop the proceedings in the Supreme Court.The court raised objections over the report saying that some documents were incomplete and adjourned the hearing till Friday.A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, will hear the case.This development come a day later when Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani had asked his son Ali Musa Gilani to shorten his honey moon and return to Pakistan to face allegations in connection with ephedrine import scam.
