MQM appeals CJP to take suo moto of Fakhra Younus case

The coordination committee of MQM has requested CJP to take suo moto of Fakhras case.

The committee requested to Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take suo moto of acid attack victim Fakhra Yunus. Fakhra’s husband Bilal Khar, ex-MPA and son of former governor Punjab Ghulam Mustafa Khar, threw acid on her in 2000.She went to Itlay for treatment where 39 surgery attempts were made to reshape her disfigured face but all in vain. She committed suicide in Italy a couple of days ago by jumping from the sixth floor of the flat.Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Husaain had demanded public hanging of the persons involved in acid attacks on women. He also demanded stern action against Bilal Khar.
