SC verdict at 3:30, hearing ends on judges appointment, PCO petition

Supreme Court has completed the hearing of the constitutional petitions regarding appointments of the Sindh High Court judges and the verdict will be announced at 3:30pm after Friday prayers. A 14-member larger bench heard the petition. The questions about November 03 emergency, PCO and PCO judges were also taken up during the hearing. This morning Attorney General Sardar Latif Khosa completed his arguments. He said that former president Pervez Musharraf had misused his authority on October 12. He said that this case would end dictatorship forever and bring a change in the peoples thought. He said that the current government had never acknowledged PCO, adding that entire country except PML-Q condemned emergency and PCO. He said, We have always respected judiciary but the hanging of ZA Bhutto has never been accepted by the people. On this occasion Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammed Chaudhry said judiciary wanted to strengthen the parliament.
