(Dunya News) - One of the oldest food streets of the twin cities, Kartarpura receives hundreds of visitors during sehri, turning the locality into one of the busiest in the city during Ramazan.

Shopkeepers decked in traditional colourful ‘pagg’ (headgear) serve freshly prepared paaey, channay and nihari. A large number of people queue up to have a taste of the specially prepared lassi, which is not just refreshing but also has several health benefits.

According to the shop owners, this month is one of the busiest time of the year especially during sehri hours. They say they generate huge revenues by selling traditional food specialties.

Visitors say the reason for them to make a long journey just to have sehri with their friends or families is the high quality of food offered on cheap rates and the friendly environment. Some even say having sehri with friends in Kartarpura market has become a sort of tradition for them.
For the love of food and to keep the tradition of having sehri with friends, people often make their way to Kartarpura.
