Muzaffarabad hosts an evening celebrating Pakistan's rich cultural heritage

(Dunya News) – A glittery evening showcasing and celebrating the rich diverse cultures of Pakistan was held in Muzaffarabad.

Organised by the AJK’s Cultural Academy, the cultural evening focused on the third edition of Kashmir International Conference on Linguistics.

Participating students dressed in different cultural attires representing all provinces of the country, performed cultural dances, recited poetry and sang songs in regional languages including Kashmiri, Punjabi, Balochi, Sindhi, Pashtu, Siraiki, Sheena and Potohari.

Linguists attending the conference also took part in the cultural evening, where they cheered during performances, especially during the Kashmiri traditional fight dance called ‘Gatka’.

“Such cultural shows encourage us to love and embrace our cultures,” a female visitor said.
