Summary Caretaker CM Naqvi orders health department to remain alert amid monkeypox cases
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Caretaker chief minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered the Punjab healthcare department to remain high alert following monkeypox cases increased to two.
Mr Naqvi presided over a high-level session in which protective measures were discussed to stop the spread of monkey pox and decision to made isolation wards for the monkey pox patients was also taken while doctors would be given special training to treat the patients.
A special committee was also formulated in this regard. Provincial minister for specialized healthcare Dr Javed Akram, minister for primary and secondary health Dr Jamal Nasir, provincial education minister Mansoor Qadir and relevant secretaries have been included in the committee.
It was informed in the meeting that monkeypox was found in two passengers coming from abroad and the other passengers of the flight would be traced with the help of Civil Aviation Authority and National Command and Operation Centre.
