5mn children lost their lives before becoming 5 years old, recent report

NEW YORK ( Web Desk ) – In a recent report of the United Nations, it is mentioned almost 5 million children had lost their lives in 2021 before reaching the age of five years.

The startling revelation was made in the report as every four seconds, a young person or child had lost his life.

According to UNICEF, infectious diseases like pneumonia, malaria and diarrhea posed huge challenges for the children. They, however, can be controlled through better health facilities, vaccination and effective sanitation means.

The report highlights grimly if the ratio is maintained, then almost 20 million children would lose their lives from 2022 to 2030, and almost 70 per cent of the affected would be from South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
