Prices of paracetamol products witness hike

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government on Wednesday agreed to increase the prices of paracetamol extra and syrup, while the price of paracetamol 500 mg tablet has been reduced.

A meeting was held with the officials of pharmaceutical companies under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. Regarding this meeting, a statement was issued by the Ministry of Finance, according to which the head of main pharmaceutical companies discussed the retail price of paracetamol products. The pharma industry agreed upon the reduced prices of paracetamol 500mg tablet at Rs2.35.

The government approved half of the demand to increase the rate of paracetamol extra and syrup. The price of the paracetamol extra tablet was approved at Rs2.75 while the price of paracetamol Syrup was agreed to be fixed at Rs117.60.
