Turkiye’s Erdogan says UN, Western values dying in Gaza
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has said that the values of the United Nations system and the Western world are dying in Gaza as the conflict continues there, calling for an “alliance of humanity” to stop Israel, Reuters reports.

Israel’s ports in the northern city of Haifa were operating at normal capacity despite an escalation in fighting with Hezbollah in nearby Lebanon and the city being targeted by rocket fire, Israeli authorities said, Reuters reports.
The government’s port authority issued a letter to clarify that no changes had been made at Israeli ports ranging from Eilat on the Red Sea in Israel’s far south to the major Mediterranean ports in Haifa and Ashdod.
“Following recent events, we find it necessary to reassure that our ports … are fully open for business and functioning at full capacity,” said the letter, which was seen by Reuters.

In his last address at the UNGA as US president, Joe Biden said a two-state solution with a Palestinian state, in which Palestinians can live peacefully, is the only way to ensure permanent peace, as Israel continues to escalate violence by attacking Lebanon.
Speaking at the session in New York, Biden, who has come under fire for his administration's unconditional support to Israel, as it commits acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip, said it was time for a cease-fire in Gaza.
He said that "innocent civilians" in the blockaded Palestinian enclave were "going through hell," adding that now was the time for Israel and Hamas to agree to a cease-fire and hostage deal.

As the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah grabs global attention, Palestinians in Gaza wonder: What will become of their plight after nearly a year of devastating war?
They are petrified that international concern has been diverted, and that a dark possibility looms: abandonment.
The families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza have the same worry.
Nezar Zaqout, one of some 1.9 million Palestinians forced to flee their homes since the Israel-Hamas war broke out, said he fears the fighting across the Israel-Lebanon border will overtake interest in the abysmal living conditions in Gaza and efforts to negotiate a cease-fire.
