Tom Cruise has been a dedicated supporter of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre and Museum of Tolerance for over a decade, making it his mission to help these institutions spread knowledge about the history of the Holocaust. The actor is being recognized for his long-time financial support for the centre.The awards ceremony was hosted by the Simon Wiesenthal Centre and the Museum of Tolerance during their annual National Tribute Dinner. Cruise made appearance on the red carpet with his wife Katie Holmes and son, Conor. Director J.J. Abrams and producer Jerry Bruckheimer also came to support Cruise.Two medals of valour were given to people who made significant contributions to the preservation of Holocaust. A third medal was awarded to Chilean miner Luis Alberto Urzua Iribarren.
