Meesha-Ali spat: SC to decide when to record statements of witnesses

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday has told lawyer of Pakistani singer Meesha Shafi that the court will decide when and how the statements of the witnesses will be recorded.

During the hearing of defamation suit, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan expressed resentment over Shafi’s lawyer for demanding to record testimonies of the witnesses before presenting the arguments.

The judge said that in his 30-year career, he has not observed such kind of act over which, the counsel said that he can give him the examples.

Justice Ijaz adjourned the hearing till next week, saying that statement of one witness has already been recorded.
