A mishmash of contrasting textures and prints reigned at Dries Van Noten's catwalk show in Paris held inside the French capital's city hall (Hotel de Ville) on Wednesday.

The Belgian designer told that his womens ready-to-wear fall/winter 2011/12 collection was inspired by the elaborate, theatrical costumes of the Ballets Russes and the iconic style of English rockstar David Bowie. Bowies hit single Heroes was the accompanying soundtrack for the designers show. Models strutted down the runway sporting clothes that married unexpected fabrics and patterns.
