Summary Actor Idris Elba has shot down reports that he will replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.
Los Angeles: (Web Desk) - Craig has a five-picture deal with Bond bosses and is expected to step down from the role in the next few years, and his Skyfall co-star Naomie Harris fuelled speculation about Elba being lined up as a possible replacement when she revealed The Wire star had met with producer Barbara Broccoli, reported Daily Star.
However, Elba, 40, is adamant that stories about secret meetings and contracts is just gossip.
"It s just a rumour - but what a compliment. I m flattered by the notion of it. I m also encouraged that audiences are being more colour-blind these days," he said.
If Elba does land the role, he will make history as the first black James Bond.
Irrfan chooses on-screen wife and son
The actor met actors from as far as Iran and Turkey for selection or role of his wife and son.
MUMBAI (Web Desk) - Irrfan, who will next be seen in Nikhil Advani s D-Day, was actively involved in the casting of his on-screen wife and son. The actor, along with casting director Mukesh Chhabra and Nikhil, met actresses from as far as Iran and Turkey.
In the film, the nuances of Irrfan s character are defined to a great extent by his interactions with his family and so, he didn t want to take any chance. The team finally zeroed in on Shriswara.
Irrfan says, "Shriswara had a motherly warmth about her. She has brought in a certain freshness to the story." Dwij will be seen playing Irrfan s son in the movie.
Co-produced by Essel Vision Productions, the film also features Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Huma Qureshi, Shruti Haasan, Akash Dahiya, Nassar and Chandan Roy Sanyal.
