Summary

Swimwear, evening wear and polished lines will decide the winner of an international beauty pageant in Taiwan this weekend, but dresses, eyeshadow and long hair are out -- this contest is only for men. After two weeks of practicing dance steps and fine-toning muscles, contestants from 28 countries will walk down a catwalk in central Taiwan on Saturday to be crowned as the world's most handsome man in a contest that's becoming more popular. Pageant producer, the Mister Singapore Organization, has held a Mister International pageant annually since 2006 largely to raise HIV/AIDS awareness, though there are no AIDS-specific activities scheduled this year. One of the judges, Mohammad Chamseddine, who is the first runner up of last year's pageant and also the champion of the 2009 World Hunk International, said he is training the contestants how to behave and how to win.Basically there are three or four things they are judged on. First one is the most important thing, the intelligence, because they are judged upon the questions, the winner will be judged upon the questions, then the behavior, the looks, outer looks, the fitness, the face, and basically the performance on the stage, said 27-year-old Chamseddine. Contestants include 29-year-old British construction sales William Moore of Great Britain, 30-year-old professional model Luis Nuzzo of Venezuela, and 22-year-old medical scientist Nelson Lee of Singapore. I believe my ability to speak well on stage as well as certain level of confidence I have winning nationally before, this is not my first pageant so I know what's coming up, and I know the routine that's coming up, so I guess I will just have to strut myself on stage, said Lee, the winner of Mr. Singapore. In the run-up to the pageant, contestants are strutting their way through a series of publicity events such as a visit to a hospital for blind children and a news conference at one of the island's signature hot springs resorts. Two days before the final judgement, contestants are confident to show off the best of what they have on stage.I have a lot of catwalk experience and I'm good about the modelling as well, but hopefully everyone likes my personality, and I'm a good public speaker, so hopefully it will go for me, said 29-year-old William Moore of Great Britain.I feel good, I am going to do my best job on stage and trust in me and trust in God, and whatever happened, I just feel a winner, because I win 29 friends, I win a lot of places here, so this for me is enough, said 30-year-old Luis Nuzzo, the winner for best body and best friendship in a Venezuelan pageant. Reigning beauty king Ngo Tien Doan of Vietnam will crown his successor on the Saturday ceremony which will be attended by about 500 people. The winner will receive 5,000 USD, a personal trainer and a list of beauty products.
