Dubai International Film Festival presented on Thursday (December 10) the third annual Cinema Against AIDS Dubai gala which will help raise funds for amfAR's HIV/AIDS programmes and heighten awareness of the AIDS in the Middle East.Matt Dillon, Christina Ricci, Mandy Moore and Queen Noor of Jordan attended the dinner and the Auction. AmfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, raised 4.8 million U.S. dollars from their two most recent events at the Dubai International Film Festivals and 48 million USD has been raised by Cinema Against Aids galas globally since 1993. Moore performed some of her songs during the events.It's important for anywhere in the world to sort of raise awareness of HIV Aids and the work that's been done to continue doing more and more work but sort of applaud the work done by group like AmfAR, she said ahead of her performance. The funds support amfAR's activities focused on AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education and the advocacy of sound Aids-related public policy.This year film festival in Dubai opens amid one of the worst financial crisis facing Dubai.
