For the thirteenth year in a row people marvelled at the incredible sculptures on the cliffs of Bondi Beach in Sydney at Sculptures by the Sea, Australia's main open art exhibition. A 91-year-old woman walked away with the top prize at the exhibition with her granite boulder artwork. May Barrie, who has been sculpting for more than 60 years and completed the Time and Tide Granite Monolith in 1996, took home the $60, 000 Australian dollars (approximately $54, 330 U.S. dollars) prize money.Exhibition organisers described the huge sculpture, which has wave-like indents, as peaceful, subtle and sophisticated.Barrie's sculpture beat 113 other artworks at the Sculptures By The Sea festival which is expected to draw half a million visitors over the next fortnight.
