Londons iconic Piccadilly Circus was transformed into a genuine circus on Sunday as part of the British capitals 2012 festival.Circus troupe Les Studios de Cirque presented the UK premiere of their show Place des Anges and took over for a special finale to a day of circus-themed events in the central locationThe French aerialist troupe specialise in spectacular outdoor events which can, at first sight, appear to be surreal airborne pillow fights.Soaring 34 metres over the audience on three zip wires strung across Piccadilly Circus, the performers released around 1.5 tonnes of feathers onto the audience, to the obvious delight of the watching crowds.The show was created by Stephane Girard and founder of cult circus troupe Archaos, Pierrot Bidon.
