This culture icon is one of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice.Michael Jackson burst into the world of popular music with his second solo album, Thriller, which came out in 1983. The music video featuring MJ as a zombie and the foot-tapping songs, including the title track along with songs like Billie Jean, Wanna Be Startin Something all shot him to instant fame.The album won a record-breaking eight Grammy awards and remains one of the highest selling albums of all-time. With videos such as Black or White and Scream he continued to be highly visible on MTV in the 1990s, and also began to forge a reputation as a touring artist. His other records, including Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991), and HIStory (1995), also rank among the worlds best-selling albums.Yet, there is much more that is memorable about Michael Jackson than just music. The moonwalk, which he first did in 1983, changed the very style of dance across the world.Michael died with acute Propofol intoxication on 5 June, 2009, shortly before his scheduled comeback tour, titled This Is It.His physician Dr Conrad Murray was sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter for administering the drug to him.
