Summary Chavela Vargas the veteran recording artist has left a Madrid hospital and is resting.
Maria Cortina said 93-year-old Vargas is now at Madrids Students Residence, a cultural center renowned for having hosted artists and writers since it was founded in 1910.Vargas flew into Spain on July 1 to present her latest record La Luna Grande which she dedicated to poet and playwright Federico Garcia Lorca, and was admitted to hospital on July 12, suffering from exhaustion and abnormally rapid heartbeat after a performance.Cortina, who accompanied Vargas to Spain along with two nurses, said Sunday that the singer intended to return home to Tepoztlan, in southern Mexico, once doctors say she can travel.
