(Dunya News) – A young 24-year-old resident of Lyari has made it her mission to empower girls of her area through education.

For the past five years, Mahira Miyanji has been teaching girls of Lyari and that too, free of cost.

Speaking about her initiative, Miyanji said a large number of girls were not receiving education in Lyari. With the help of her friends, she decided to educate girls in the area.

Her passion to give these girls a platform and a bright future inspired a welfare organisation from Lahore, which later came forward to aid her further.

Kulsume Hai, Founder of Panaah organisation, donated books, course material and stationery for girls.

“We found out about Miyanji’s work and her efforts to teach young girls, and our organisation came forward to support her in this cause,” she said.

After receiving books and other study material, the girls of Lyari say they are determined to continue their education.
