LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested four suspects and seized more than 167 kilograms of drugs worth over Rs18 million in six operations carried out in different parts of the country, including areas around educational institutions.
According to the ANF, one kilogram of ice was recovered from a motorcyclist near Hyderabad University in Tando Jam.
In Rawalpindi, 1.9kg of ice was recovered from a parcel booked for New Zealand at a courier office. The drug had been absorbed into a waistcoat concealed in the parcel.
Another 4.2kg of ice was recovered from shoes in a parcel destined for the United Kingdom at a courier office on Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Near Sarnan in Pishin district, ANF officials recovered 60kg of hashish and 12kg of ice concealed among apple boxes in a truck and arrested one suspect.
In another operation near Garmakan Road in Panjgur district, 48kg of hashish was recovered from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
Meanwhile, 40kg of opium was recovered from bushes near Dalbandin in Chagai district.
The ANF said cases had been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and investigations were under way.
