Six held in FIA raid on hawala, hundi business in Peshawar

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – An FIA team of Peshawar Zone conducted an operation and arrested six suspects involved in running illegal hawala/hundi business and operating an unauthorised currency exchange.
According to an FIA spokesperson, over Rs200 million in cash and six kilograms of gold were recovered from the suspects.
Mobile phones and other evidence related to hawala/hundi operations were also seized.
The arrested suspects have identified as Zahir Shah, Bilal Manzoor, Jamaluddin, Saad Khan, Shahid Khan, and Amir Ali Khan.
Police said that the suspects were arrested from different areas of Peshawar, Mardan, and Nowshera.
FIA officials said crackdowns on illegal currency business will continue and culprits will be brought to justice.
