Police have arrested the couple allegedly involved in maid’s torture
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – A young domestic help on Wednesday breathed her last in hospital days after she was brutally tortured by her employers at Asghar Mall.
Police said the 12-year-old domestic help was admitted to the Holy Family Hospital with wounds on head, face and arms.
Police earlier arrested the couple allegedly involved in maid’s torture. They registered a case under seven charges including murder.
Torture of maids is quite common in several parts of the country. Back in December 2024, police arrested a couple in Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area for thrashing a domestic help.
Reports said house owner Sheikh Rizwan’s son brutally tortured 15-year-old maid Mehwish and inflicted burns with an iron.
The victim alleged that Rizwan’s son Abdullah also harassed her.
Police arrested Rizwan and his wife Ayesha who denied the allegations.
Earlier, a college professor was detained for allegedly torturing a 15-year-old maid in Lahore.
The girl, Fiza, was hospitalised in critical condition after alleged torture by her employer Prof Salman, a resident of Defence area.
