Huge quantity of illegal gutka, chalia seized
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Three people were arrested during a raid on three gutka (illegal chewing tobacco) making factories in Bhangghorai Ghot.
The arrested persons were identified as Furqan, Nauman and Farooq whereas their accomplice managed to escape.
Police recovered heavy gutka and chalia (betelnut) making machinery.
As many as 314 sacks of chalia, chemical drums, 72,648 packets of gutka and other substances used in making the tobacco were seized.
The suspects have been booked under Gutka Mawa Act, and Illegal Weapons and Water Sewerage 2923 Act.
Meanwhile, District Central SSP suspended Azizabad SHO for not taking action against the gutka mafia.
Gulberg ASP supervised the operation and warned a strict action against those who were involved in the illegal heinous business.
