Police claim to have found evidence of involvement of foreign agency in the murder
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Jamia Abu Bakar Islamia head Maulana Ziaur Rehman was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Gulistan-e-Johar, Block-6.
The victim got bullets in his head and chest, and succumbed to his wounds before being shifted to hospital. The attackers managed to escape after the firing.
Police are investigating the tragic incident. Initial report suggests that it was a targeted killing.
Police have found evidence of involvement of a foreign agency in the targeted killing.
Further investigation is under way with the help of CCTV footage. The police higher-ups claimed that the culprits would be tracked down soon.
They said the probe into the gruesome murder was being carried out keeping in view different angles.
Police said the targeted killing was aimed at creating law and order situation in the province ahead of Rabiul Awal.
