LAHORE (Dunya News) - No torture marks were found on the body of the late DIG Shariq Jamal who was mysteriously found dead at his Lahore's flat in the wee hours of Saturday.
The postmortem examination report of the police officer shows that there was no mark of torture on the body.
According to the preliminary autopsy report, the mouth of deceased was half-open while there were blood stains on his lips and teeth. However, no torture was found on his body.
The report added that there was stiffness in the body while an old wound mark was also found on Jamal's left arm.
DIG Jamal died mysteriously and his body was found in Flat 104 of Defence Phase IV in the Nishtar police station area.
Police sources said the Defence police had taken a man and a woman into custody and also seized the food and utensils from the DIG's house for investigation.
DIG Jamal was taken to local hospital with blood flowing from his mouth and nose.
The senior officer served as DIG Traffic Punjab, DIG Investigation Lahore and DIG Railways. He had completed training for promotion to Grade 21. He was on special duty (OSD) these days.
