Over 10,000 criminals arrested in June from Punjab

245 arrests were made in Lahore

LAHORE (Web Desk) - The Punjab Police arrested 10,076 criminals and 1,934 fugitives during the month of June across the province.

The rigorous crackdown against the criminals involved in serious crimes was carried out on the directions of IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar.

Among the arrested criminals, 1,378 were wanted for various offenses, including 268 cases of murder, 107 cases of robbery, 973 cases of theft, 12 cases of dacoity, and 5 cases of kidnapping for ransom.

Notably, Lahore district was ranked first in the province with 245 arrests, followed by Sialkot with 151 arrests related to crackdown against proclaimed offenders and Faisalabad was ranked third with 120 accused in custody.

In addition, a total of 1,934 proclaimed offenders were apprehended from different areas of the province during this crackdown.

IG Punjab commended the efforts of police teams for successful operations against these criminals and fugitives.

IG directed the Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to personally oversee and monitor the operations aimed at apprehending these high-profile criminals.
