Police arrest suspect for attacking Latif Khosa’s residence
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested the suspect who allegedly opened fire at the residence of former Punjab governor Latif Khosa.
DIG Investigation Kamran Adil said the accused identified as Mohsin alias Lamba had admitted that he unleashed the attack on the PPP leader’s house on the directives of PTI leader Zubair Khan Niazi.
DIG said that the suspect is a resident of Samanabad, an area in Lahore's Millat Park. The suspect was wanted in 14 other cases of firing, said the DIG.
The suspect informed the police that he received Rs0.1 million from Zubair Niazi, after which he opened fire at Khosa's house.
"The suspect was used to create tension in the ties between the lawyers and the government," the DIG investigation said.
Earlier this month, Khosa was remained safe while his driver sustained injuries after a gun attack was launched by unidentified gunmen at his house in Lahore.
