Punjab CTD arrests four suspected terrorists

LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday arrested four alleged terrorists in several raids across Punjab.

According to a spokesperson, the Punjab CTD carried out several raids throughout the province to deal with terrorism. In 30 intelligence-based operations (IBOs), 30 suspects were interrogated and four suspected terrorists arrested. Officials seized weapons, explosives and other prohibited material from the possession of the suspects who have been identified as Danish, Muhammad Raziq Afridi, Muhammad Muzaffar Mehmood and Hafiz Zahid Mehmood.

The spokesman further said the arrested terrorists belonged to proscribed organisations and they were already booked in four FIRs. The terrorists had planned to target installations and religious places. “The CTD is diligently pursuing its goal of a safe and secure Punjab and will leave no stone unturned in its efforts to bring terrorists and anti-state elements behind the bars,” the spokesperson affirmed.
