Dr Maha committed suicide after rape, harassment by friends, accuses father
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Father of Dr Maha, who committed suicide in Karachi, had alleged that Maha was raped and harassed by her friends and two doctors, which forced her to commit suicide.
Police have arrested the three accused Junaid, Waqas and Irfan.
Dr Maha’s father had given an application for registration of a case at Gizri police station against the three characters who blackmailed Dr. Maha which forced her to commit suicide.
According to police sources, Dr Maha’s father alleged in the application that the role of the three persons was the reason for his daughter s suicide.
The applicant had accused Junaid, a friend of Maha Ali for many years, Irfan Qureshi, a dentist at a well-known Clifton hospital, and Dr Waqas for Dr Maha’s suicide.
According to police, the application also mentions a fourth person who took a pistol from his friend and gave it to the deceased. Tabish and Saad were already arrested and remanded in the case registered on the charge of providing pistol to Dr Maha.
The police sources said that the deceased s father had accused of rape, torturing, injuring and drugging Maha Ali.
According to applicant, his daughter committed suicide due to tension caused by the three persons.
According to police officials, there is no provision for filing a case against committing suicide, but action can be taken against those responsible for her death. Legal advice is being sought from senior police officers and expert investigators on the application.
