Meeting briefs IGP on newly upgraded 29 Special Initiative Police Stations

PM Iman will inaugurate the Model Town Police Station in Mianwali.

LAHORE (Dunya News) –Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shoaib Dastagir was briefed on Friday that 29 police stations of different districts have been upgraded to “Special Initiative Police Stations”.

IGP Dastagir presided over a meeting at Central Police Office (CPO) where many matters were discussed. The meeting reviewed the preparations for inaugural ceremony of Model Police Station in Mianwali which will be honored by the presence of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

AIG Development CPO Punjab Muhammad Hassan Iqbal briefed the meeting about the special initiative project. PM Imran will also inaugurate the special initiatives projects in Mianwali police station.

In the initial phase, 29 police stations of various districts including Mianwali have been upgraded as Special Initiatives Police Stations whereas 50 police stations in the province are being upgraded according to modern ideas to provide better and timely facilities to the citizens.

Hassan Iqbal said that the model police station building has been divided into two sections for public convenience. Advanced police counters and waiting rooms with friendly atmosphere have been built for citizens in the Lahore front-end section.

He went on to say that counters will provide timely guidance and facilities to the citizens through the token system. Reconciliation committee room, SHO office and meeting hall are also in the front-end section. However, the areas related to the police affairs of the station, the rooms of the investigating officers and references are in the rear-section.

Speaking on the occasion, IG Punjab Shoaib Dastagir said that the project briefly focuses on smart and community policing to provide convenience and service to the citizens.
