Two policemen killed as polio team in Lower Dir attacked.
LOWER DIR (Dunya News) – Two police officials – deployed on security of a polio team – were killed as unidentified men opened fire on the staff on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.
The incident occurred in Lower Dir’s Lal Qila area. The victims have been identified as constable Farman and Mukarram who were appointed at the Lal Qila Police Station.
The dead bodies have been shifted to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Timergara. The police have started a search operation to nab the suspects. Further investigations are ongoing.
In another incident, armed men robbed a polio team on Zer Khel link road. The suspects escaped after snatching money, mobile phones, NICs and other valuables.
The victims blocked the link road afterwards to stage their protest which disrupted the traffic.
Polio workers in Sargodha were tortured by a man identified as Akhtar Hussain. The police reached the incident spot but the accused had managed to escape. A case has been filed against the suspect.
