Sindh IG orders police to recover kidnapped girl at gunpoint in Karachi's DHA
A FIR has been lodged at the Darakhshan Police Station.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – A special investigation team of police that has been tasked to recover an abducted girl – who was kidnapped at gunpoint from Karachi’s DHA Bukhari Commercial Area and whose friend Haris was shot – has been tracing the car in which kidnappers took away the girl.
The car was grey in colour and its model was four years old.
A FIR has been lodged at the Darakhshan Police Station under sections of murder attempt and kidnapping. The FIR stated that Haris, the friend of the abducted girl, told their family that he was going out to meet his friends.
Haris and the kidnapped girl, after drinking tea from a hotel, were roaming around in the area when the kidnappers suddenly attacked them and opened fire at Haris.
The injured boy was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention, whereas the girl was whisked away by armed kidnappers.
Haris, wounded in the incident, was initially taken to the National Medical Center but later moved to the Aga Khan University Hospital.
Haris, still in consciousness, immediately contacted his father and informed them about the incident.
Later, senior police officials, including district south operations and investigations SSPs, reached the crime spot and began an investigation into the incident.
Police have obtained CCTV footage of the incident and have been interrogating a rickshaw driver, who is claimed to have seen the incident.
The police were also looking to record the statements of the families and friends for any possible clues about the abductors.
Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Kaleem Aman has taken notice of the incident and has sought an initial report from District South police chief SSP Sheraz Nazeer.
It is the second major kidnapping incident of a girl in the DHA. Earlier, another young girl was kidnapped in the same manner in May this year and was later released after her family paid a handsome ransom to the kidnappers.
