IG Punjab directs for regular monitoring of rape cases

Rape cases must be handled by experts and officers with good repute: IGP

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Inspector General Punjab Captain (r) Arif Nawaz Khan has directed the authorities to submit weekly report to Central police Office about the rape cases of children and women.

He said the investigation officers would be given assistance in these cases.

Addressing a ceremony in Central Police Office, he said internal accountability of police stations would be done. He directed that no delay in such cases would be tolerated. He said zero tolerance would be given if citizens suffered from hands of security personnel.

He said the rape cases must be handled by experts and officers with good repute.

He said technology must be used in such cases.

IG also directed the authorities to conduct regular meetings for promotions of security persons.
